Rabbit in the dog run

.. on Monday night ..

This is one of those posts I have been thinking about for more than a week (or has it been two?), building it slowly in my mind.. Nah, not really. There's just always something else. Be it work, e-mails, housework, clipping Rekku's nails.. Blogging gets pushed aside. But now, as I write this, I'm actually at Denpasar Airport, Bali, where we have found this great - well not that great, food pretty much sucks.. - little lounge that anyone can get into (for 100 000) and has wi-fi! (It has not been the easiest to get access to internet during the weekend in Bali.) So, perfect time to 'hang out in the net' while waiting for boarding and write.

Last Sunday was what prompted me to write under this heading, because there really was a rabbit in the dog run. A lady had brought her pet bunny into the dog run in a small crate, took the bunny out - and was showing the rabbit to the dogs. How smart! As she bend over towards Rekku, I called out to her and kindly told her that it might not be a good idea to show a rabbit to a dog of a hunting breed.. I think she got the point, as she then put the rabbit into the crate for safety. Naturally, Rekku might have simply wanted to make friends with the rabbit, but the mere thought of brining a rabbit into a dog run made me want to give her something to think about! Singapore keeps surprising me..!

.. present time ..

Our Bali trip was quite unique. We decided on the whole thing really quickly, and booked tickets before looking for a place for Rekku to stay over the long weekend. Marianne luckily came to the rescue as she took Rekku to stay with them (and their dog Grizzly) in a big house with a garden.. We left on a Friday, and hit the beach on Sat morning. It was raining slightly, really windy and grey. Yak. I had to wrap myself in towels while Antti was surfing, and then change into jeans and a cardigan (which I had only to keep me warm during the flights). In Bali! At the beach!! Yak.

Sunday was the complete opposite then, so sunny and hot it made no difference how much sunscreen we put on - burned anyway. I tried surfing too! Look:

Monday we spent in the shade.. and noticed that there's not that much to do in Bali if you cannot stay in the sun, do not want to buy 'touristic junk' (we had been to all the surfing stores by then), cannot do massage, do not want to spend all day in a bar drinking beer nor in a car going somewhere else on the island to see a temple or such. Nonetheless our mini holiday was really good fun. :)

Now it's back to normal crazy busy life in SG :p
